Writing

Writing has always formed an integral part of my artistic practice.

Whether through poetry, theatre, fiction or film, I am interested in the stories people tell themselves and the ways in which memory, perception and personal experience shape our understanding of reality. Much of my writing explores the space between objective events and the meanings we assign to them, examining themes of identity, love, loss, truth and transformation.

Across different forms and genres, I return to the same questions: How do we become who we are? Which stories do we inherit, and which do we create ourselves? And what remains when those stories begin to shift?

Poetry

My poetry explores themes of memory, identity, love, loss and perception. Often rooted in personal experience, the poems move beyond autobiography towards broader reflections on what it means to be human.

Theatre

My theatre work explores psychological and philosophical themes through intimate, character-driven narratives. Rather than focusing on external events, the plays examine the stories people construct about themselves and others, and the tension between perception, memory and truth.

Featuring excerpts from Waarheid (Truth) and Ave Maria, two plays that explore the fragile relationship between identity, truth and the roles we inhabit.

Fiction

Alongside poetry, theatre and film, I write literary fiction.

I am the author of the novel The Naked Cockatoo and am currently working on a second novel. Like much of my work, my fiction explores themes of identity, memory, perception and the stories through which people make sense of themselves and the world around them.
